Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – March 31, 2026: Under the patronage and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region, Rua Al Madinah Holding, a PIF company, launched, during its participation as Destination Experience Partner in the third edition of Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2026, the names of districts, streets, pathways, and avenues within Rua Al Madinah Project, inspired by Madinah’s heritage and rich history.

The naming list includes four historical areas bearing names associated with tribes that once inhabited the area: Bani Abdul Ashhal, Bani Muawiyah, Bani Dhafar, and Bani Mazin. Across these areas, nine districts have been named, including Al Na’im, Al Adl, Al Ansar, and Al Rahmah, among others, in addition to five main avenues comprising 40 streets and pathways.

The adoption of these historical names reflects a planning philosophy within the project that relies on historically documented names, reinforcing cultural values while preserving Madinah’s urban identity and heritage within a contemporary urban experience close to the Prophet’s Mosque.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Eng. Ahmed bin Wasl Al Juhani stated:”Adopting historical names for the districts of Rua Al Madinah Project forms part of a strategic vision aimed at preserving the identity of Madinah and strengthening its cultural presence within its development projects. Rua Al Madinah Holding’s participation in the forum reflects its commitment to developing integrated urban destinations that combine heritage and modernity, while delivering a unique experience that enriches the journey of pilgrims and visitors.“

During the forum, several company leaders are participating alongside a distinguished group of international developers and industry leaders in panel discussions addressing a range of topics, including the development of Umrah and Ziyarah destinations, investment opportunities and strategic partnerships, as well as the advancement of the hospitality sector in Madinah as a sustainable global destination and mechanisms to strengthen its position within the Umrah and Ziyarah ecosystem.

The project aims to provide more than 47,000 hotel and residential units and create approximately 93,000 job opportunities, contributing to the growth of the hospitality sector and the local economy, and supporting Madinah’s development in line with the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program.
